The methods I use involve pre-spraying the upholstery with an appropriate cleaning solution and agitating this into the fabric using a soft tampico brush. This is then left to dwell in order to loosen the soiling which is then extracted using the same powerful steam extraction machine used for carpet cleaning. This doesn’t mean bringing loads of large and dangerous machinery into your home, these are small portable units which can be quickly moved in and out and cause as little disturbance as possible.

Finally the upholstery will be dried using towels. If necessary, a powerful fan can be utilised to further speed the drying process. To clean a standard 3pc suite using this method may take up to 4 hours depending on whether cushions are reversible, the level of soiling and the material involved. After this time the furniture will be ready for use, no waiting for days and days for it to dry. How long will my upholstery take to dry afterwards?
This depends on lots of factors such as the density of the upholstery fibres being cleaned, the ambient temperature and air humidity, and air flow throughout the premises. Unlike many companies using underpowered equipment, our vacuum machine has the suction to get your upholstery almost dry after cleaning. We will recommend several ways to speed up the final drying stage, but with the heating on and some windows open, most of our customer’s upholstery are usually dry within an hour of us leaving. If for any reason we anticipate the drying process to take slightly linger (in unheated or unventilated rooms) we will speed up the drying process with high powered fans and air movers.
Can you clean very old or badly stained upholstery?
